At the HLC Maternal & Family Mental Health Research Center, we invite submissions to be featured on our site that reflect personal experience, professional insight, and community-centered perspectives on maternal and family mental health. Whether you're a researcher, advocate, practitioner, or parent, your voice matters here.
We Accept Submissions On Topics Such As:
Maternal mental health across the lifespan
Black families and generational healing
Culturally rooted therapeutic strategies
Family systems, advocacy, or lived experience
Reflections on care work, research, or community action
Interviews, essays, or case-based insights
Submission Guidelines
Length: 800–1,500 words
Format: .docx or Google Doc
Style: Professional yet conversational (APA citations optional)
Author Bio: 2–3 sentences about you
Optional: A headshot for author credit
Originality: Your work must be original and not previously published elsewhere, unless disclosed
Review Process
All submissions are reviewed by our team for relevance, clarity, and alignment with our mission. We may provide light edits or request revisions prior to publication. You’ll receive a decision within 2–3 weeks of submission.
What Happens If Accepted?
Accepted articles will be:
Published on our official site under “Articles & Publications”
Promoted via our newsletter and social media
Credited to you with full author attribution and bio
