Patrina Dow, Ph.D

Dr. Patrina Dow is a human services educator, maternal mental health researcher, and passionate advocate for underserved families. With a background in psychology, human services counseling, and marriage and family therapy, she co-founded the HLC Maternal & Family Mental Health Research Center to bridge the gap between research and real-world impact. Dr. Dow also serves as Director of Student Mom Advocacy at Baby Steps Auburn Hub and teaches in the Human Services Department at Purdue Global. Her work centers on maternal anxiety, intergenerational wellness, and family-centered policy.
Latrina Thomas, Ph.D
Co-Founder & Lead Researcher
Dr. Latrina Thomas is a seasoned researcher, mental health counselor, and leader in maternal and child health equity. As Project Director at the Center for Maternal and Child Health at Tuskegee University, she brings deep expertise in program design and evaluation. She co-founded the HLC Maternal & Family Mental Health Research Center to uplift culturally grounded solutions through research, strategy, and advocacy. Dr. Thomas teaches Graduate students at Purdue Global and is committed to empowering communities through evidence-based practice and collaborative change.
