Our Impact

Researching to improve outcomes. Advancing maternal & family wellness.

At HLC Maternal & Family Mental Health Research Center, our work extends beyond research alone. Through outreach, advocacy, partnerships, resource connection, and community-centered initiatives, we are committed to strengthening maternal and family wellness across Alabama communities.

HLC Maternal & Family Mental Health Research Center is committed to advancing maternal and family wellness through community-centered research, outreach, advocacy, and support initiatives across rural Alabama communities. Our work focuses on understanding the real experiences of families navigating financial hardship, limited access to care, transportation barriers, housing instability, and gaps in essential resources. Through partnerships, listening sessions, outreach events, and family-focused initiatives, we work to strengthen support systems and improve outcomes for underserved communities.

From connecting families to resources and distributing essential items to expanding county-based partnerships and research initiatives, our impact continues to grow across Alabama. Every volunteer, partnership, contribution, and community conversation helps support research and solutions designed to create meaningful, lasting change for the families and communities we serve.

During the 2025–2026 year, HLC Maternal & Family Mental Health Research Center received support through monetary donations, in-kind contributions, grant funding, and private research support that helped strengthen our programs and community initiatives across Alabama. These resources supported outreach efforts, family stabilization assistance, essential item distribution, research activities, volunteer engagement, and the continued growth of county-based partnerships and initiatives. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, every contribution directly supports our mission to improve maternal and family wellness through research, advocacy, outreach, and community-centered support.
