What Moms Say They Need Most Right Now
We conducted a small informal study through social media to better understand what moms need most in their daily lives. The results revealed a clear message: wellness, balance, and emotional support matter more than ever.
When asked what kind of resource they would use most if a local “mom resource hub” existed, 70% of the moms who participated said they’d choose wellness and self-care events. Mental health support followed at 20%, and parenting workshops at 10%. This suggests a strong desire for spaces that help mothers recharge and prioritize themselves.
The survey also asked about the biggest needs moms are facing right now. Moms were almost equally divided between three key priorities: time management, family time and activities, and emotional support. Childcare help was suprisingly only mentioned by 10%, showing that while it’s important, many moms are prioritizing balance and connection over traditional services.
Perhaps the most telling statistic came from the question about “me time.” Well over half of the moms reported getting only 1–2 hours of personal time per week, while only a handful (about 10%) said that they didn’t recieve any “me time” at all. Very few reported having more than just a couple of hours to themselves a week.
These findings show that moms are carrying a heavy load with little time for themselves. The data makes it clear: communities and organizations looking to support moms should focus on wellness opportunities, emotional support, and resources that help families spend quality time together. Creating spaces for moms to breathe, connect, and recharge isn’t just a luxury…it’s a necessity.
